Pave Rings

Pave rings are intricate works of (usually diamond) beauty.

What Is A Pave Setting?

Pave refers to a type of ring setting that could technically be used for any gemstone, but almost exclusively refers to a setting for a diamond ring. Pave setting is the technique that is used to form a diamond crust on a ring or portion of a pave diamond ring.

In pave diamond rings, a number of small diamonds are set close together to cover an entire ring's surface or part of a ring surface. The underlying metal is completely covered with the close-set diamonds on a pave ring. Pave and micro pave rings have very tiny beads of the metal that surrounds each diamond and holds the diamonds in a pave diamond or pave setting engagement ring in the tiny holes into which the diamonds are mounted. The diamonds sit almost flush with the ring's surface. The result is a piece that looks like a continuous surface of diamonds. It can be very difficult to tell where one diamond starts and another stops.
